Friends of Pierce County in 2023

Welcome to 2023. We're excited to be here - for another year of fighting the good fight, and enjoying this beautiful area we call home. It's also bittersweet for us at FOPC.

This February marks 20 years! A phenomenal feat we're very proud of and thankful for all of the support and involvement that has made it possible. At the same time, we are a bit saddened. Our founder and Executive Director will be spending the next few years making her mark at Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. It means she will be continuing to make a positive impact in Pierce County, but also means she will be less involved with the organization. We're proud of her continued commitment to supporting sustainable land use in Pierce County and wish her well in the new role.

What does that mean for Friends of Pierce County? We will be refocusing our efforts on a few things:

1. Sustainable Land Use in Pierce County. That mission hasn't changed and continues to be where we focus time and energy.

2. We're going a bit more digital. With a recent website refresh and focus on improving communication, we'll be sending a regular email newsletter, so we look forward to hearing your feedback.

3. We are always seeking new people that share our passion and want to get involved, so reach out any time.

It is truly inspiring and rewarding what all of you, the many organizations dedicating their time in Pierce County, and our beautiful state have done to preserve this area. There's too much negativity out there but we refuse to settle or give in, and we look forward to many more years of standing up for Pierce County with all of your support.

Sincerely,

Friends of Pierce County
