Meet the Board

William “Bud” Rehberg, President

Bud is a long time activist who loves to volunteer in his community and has been with FOPC from the beginning. He is active volunteer at Lake Kapowsin. Bud has served on the Graham Land Use Advisory and the Pierce County Solid Waste Advisory Committee. He has been active in land use efforts for many decades and closely follows development projects throughout the county.

Larry Johnson, Vice President

Larry loves the outdoors and is passionate about protecting the environment, especially watersheds and shorelines. Larry served on Pierce County stakeholder groups during shoreline plan updates. He taught sciences in the public schools for 30 years, Geology for Tacoma Community College for 22 years, and is currently the Science Project Manager at EdGate Correlation Services. Larry studied holds University degrees in Geology and Education Earth science at from Western Washington University.

Carmela Micheli, Treasurer

Carmela has been involved with FOPC since its beginning. She loves the outdoors and protecting natural areas. Carmela is very passionate about protecting Puget Sound for her beloved Orcas. She is currently the Educator and Owner of Arcadia Montessori School.

Marian Berejikian

Marian has loved the outdoors from early childhood. She pursued a degree that would allow her to work out in nature, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and Systematic Biology (Fisheries), from Cal Poly, SLO. 

She has worked as a Fish Biologist with multiple agencies (WDFW, USFS, Point No Point Treaty Council) an Environmental Consultant, and the Lead Entity Coordinator with Kitsap County. She founded FOPC in 2003 and served as the Executive Director for two decades.

Ben LoBue

Ben loves spending time outdoors, whether hiking, on the water, or in the mountains. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology, from Cal Poly, SLO and joined FOPC to combine his experience in marketing with a passion for sustainability and environmental protection.
